Dr. Amnon Klinghoffer proudly served the North York community for many years, building a practice known for compassionate care and clinical excellence.
Today, that legacy continues as he transfers the practice to Dr. David Zelsman — a transition that is both professional and deeply personal.
David grew up knowing Dr. Klinghoffer like family — in fact, he is David’s uncle’s brother. The connection between the families goes back even further: David’s father, Dr. Zane Zelsman, worked as an associate with Dr. Klinghoffer in the 1980s.
Dentistry has always been central to David’s life. His father, Dr. Zane Zelsman, opened his practice in 1980 at Markham Road and Highway 7 before relocating to Hillcroft Plaza in 1987. David’s mother, the late Dr. Shelli Karp, practiced dentistry for over 30 years after opening her office in 1984. Growing up surrounded by dentistry, David developed a deep respect for the profession and the meaningful relationships his parents built with their patients.
Dr. David Zelsman earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2018. During his training, he received multiple awards recognizing excellence in Pediatrics, Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge, and Comprehensive Patient Care.
After the sudden passing of Dr. Karp in late 2017, David stepped in to continue the care of both family practices in early 2018. Since then, he has carried forward the values instilled in him by both of his parents — compassionate care, clinical excellence, and a strong commitment to long-term relationships with patients.
Today, dentistry remains a true family endeavor. David’s sister, Jordana, has 19 years of experience, and works as a hygienist and is office manager of both practices, while his wife, Nicole, is a restorative dental hygienist who also works with the team.
Dr. Zelsman is committed to investing in new technology and expanding the scope of services offered at the practice, while preserving the same values that have defined this office for years.
